An end of an era

The 2006-2007 curling season at the Fairbanks Curling Club has come to an end. And all I got for my rookie effort in the Friday Night Fun League was the 2nd place tropy/beer glass. We ended the season with what could be regarded as our worst game of the season. We ended with a 6 win 3 loss record. There were a total of 13 teams in the league. And we weren't the only team with a state champion as a skip, though it did help a weebit.

Actually, it wouldn't of mattered in the standings if we had won, we still would have ended up coming in second due to how last night's mmatches played out. I guess this is sort of how Silver Medal winners in the Olympics feel. You play in the last game, lose, and get handed a second play trophy. Bitter-sweet.

The real question is, do I treat it like a trophy or do I treat it like a beer glass?
Hmm I wonder, is there a way to have all my team members sign the glass somehow or get their signatures transfered on to it. I'll have to look into that.

But it's been a ton of fun. I know I've improved since the fall season. It's not actually over just yet. We get one week off, and then we'll be playing in the international Bonspiel, which is a 3 or 4 day around the clock tournament thing... with a cookout at the end!!!! I'll be on a completely different team for it than my wife. Sadly we will not be competing against each other, there's a separate men's and women's draw during the tournament.
