Aurora

There has been a distinct lack of aurora in Fairbanks this fall. It's been overcast or the aurora hasn't been active. This first picture was taken in late August around midnight, and it is barely dark enough to discern the aurora.

About a week later, its a bit darker, and there was a nice display.

And here is the same night, but with higher amplification on the camera sensor. Actual viewing experience is somewhere between these two pictures.
